Breuget Tradition Ref. 7027 Watch

Breguet 70271 Breuget Tradition Ref. 7027 Watch

Over at Haute Living I discuss the newer version of the Breguet Tradition watch, the Reference 7027 model. Announced last year, it has only recently been released. This watch is ol' timer Breguet's version of a naked watch. Just the basics with all the fancy trimmings. As a timepieces the smallish dial on the only 37mm case isn't gonna be the easiest to read. But for moments you are signing important documents and want an important looking watch to glance over at, Breguet has you covered. You might whisper to it in your times of need, "what would Abraham Louis Breguet think?"

This is the nicest Breguet I know - I love the styling cues on this one, espcially the one pictured here with the white case, bead-blast look on the inside containing a power reserve indicator that is easy to read but does not "stick out" or distract (as they often do), and purple jewels as opposed to red. Also, very unlike me, I really like the croc strap here as opposed to a bracelet. The size does not bother me in the least; I enjoy large watches, but not for the sake of being large - this piece is comfortable in a smaller case, and making it 42+ would only take away from the muted elegance and compound the mechanical look, which would take away from the overall feel attained here. Perfectly executed.
I would be proud to have this in my collection, and would wear it often.

Attractive. But really, why the small dial? There is no need to create anything under 40 these days and 42+ would be preferred in most cases. I understand that larger cased watches are a trend of sorts, but still.

You dare question the mighty Breguet choice of size! With most of their customers being in Asia... they follow the size preferences there most likely.
