It is no surprise to any of you that I am a big fan of LUM-TEC watches. A company here in the US with designs and models that just keep getting better. Really dedicated to constant refinement of their line, and continually offering a slew of limited edition models that have a special ability to make our eyes widen with desire. Here are a few shots of the soon to be released Lumzilla line. A big watch with an automatic movement and a lot of personality.
The grade 316L stainless steel case is going to be a large 50mm wide and 100 meters water resistant. The crystal on both sides will be sapphire and "super" anti-reflective coated on the dial for nice glare-free viewing (a must). LUM-TEC's MDV (maximum darkness visibility) lume just keeps getting better. The Lumzilla comes with the newest generation LUM-TEC MDV GX luminant on the hands and dial. You can tell how richly the luminant has been applied. The cases is also available in a black PVD coated version.

The Lumzilla uses a Japanese automatic ref. SII NH25A11J movement. A hardy movement that I believe offers handwinding (in addition to the automatic winding). Check with LUM-TEC on that. Attached to the case are very high grade (anti-static) rubber straps with signed matching buckles. Having viewed the evolving line of LUM-TEC watches I can easily say that the brand is going places quickly. In addition to the mass appeal of the sporty but approachable designs, the timepieces are getting increased attention resulting in refinement upgrades. Notice for example the date disc in the window that matches the color of the dial. A nice touch that was not available on earlier LUM-TEC watch models. The best part about LUM-TEC watches is that you can be sure they are made by watch lovers, not just marketing people. For that reason you can be sure that they are worried about all the little things that go into having a high utility reliable timepiece - not just a watch that sits as a fashion accessory on your wrist.
Each LUM-TEC Lumzilla model will come in a limited edition and range in price from about $450 - $ 650. The pictured blue dial version is a special European market only version. If you are in the US and want one, you'll likely have to order it from overseas. It is a nice model with the rich blue, isn't it? You can order the watches directly from LUM-TEC (link above).
